Oswego East High School

Painting 1
Grades 10-12

Description: For this lesson, students expanded on their watercolor techniques learned earlier in the semester and learned about plein-air painting, composition, and techniques for painting landscapes. Students had the experience of going outside, using a viewfinder to find a visually interesting composition, and got the opportunity to paint that composition in person using watercolor paints.

Rationale: Students learned about mindfulness, plein-air painting, and identifying parts of a landscape.
